We constantly redefine ourselves based on internal thoughts (insight) and external
influences such as family, friends, colleagues and social-political-economic conditions.
So this is just a description of presently who I think I am today and what interests me.
I am interested in technology and also in successful commercial application of it. I graduated MBA, Great Distinction, from Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School, the No. 1 Business School in Belgium.
In my current position at ST-NXP Wireless, U.K., I am responsible for Bluetooth, 802.11 Wireless LAN and WiMAX coexistence solution for ST-NXP WLAN chipset - architecture specification, SystemC model development , RTL design and verification (System Verilog), FPGA and System Validation, System Software specification, development and validation.
Before moving to UK, I had taken a small break (2003-2007) from work to pursue PhD at IMEC, the largest independent research center in Europe, under full sponsorship from STMicroelectronics, Singapore.
My promoter was Prof. Francky Catthoor, Chief Scientist (IMEC) and IEEE Fellow. The title of my dissertation - Locality Optimization in a Compiler for Embedded Systems. This may sound a bit out of this world, so the non-expert version is that I developed architecture templates and software techniques to improve efficiency of multimedia and wireless (3G, Wi-Fi,WiMAX, LTE) communications devices.
I joined STMicroelectronics R&D Center, Singapore, in 1997 where I led the algorithm and system development of AC-3 Dolby Digital Audio Encoder. This work resulted in a successful product, several patents and an invited article in EETimes.
In 1997, I completedmy undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering (First Class Honors),
at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, with full scholarship from Singapore Airlines.
